Conjunction Junction? Welcome to Misinformation Station

By Ellipses

Quoth Paul Krugman:

" At a recent town hall meeting, a man stood up and told Representative Bob Inglis to "keep your government hands off my Medicare." The congressman, a Republican from South Carolina, tried to explain that Medicare is already a government program — but the voter, Mr. Inglis said, "wasn’t having any of it."

It’s a funny story — but it illustrates the extent to which health reform must climb a wall of misinformation. It’s not just that many Americans don’t understand what President Obama is proposing; many people don’t understand the way American health care works right now. "

And not that this next part is in any way substantively related to the previous quote, but it is in the same vein of "Are you fucking serious?"

Get ready for this conspiracy theory... you ready?

At last night's "Beer Summit," president Obama drank a NON-alcoholic beer, not the Bud Lite that had been reported, in order to maintain the dietary restriction on alcohol as required BY HIS MUSLIM FAITH.

I'm not joking. This has a good chance at growing legs and running. Sphere: Related Content

OMG! Actually, I think Gates did drink a non-alcoholic beer. Obama reportedly had a Bud Light, which makes him a Communist because Budweiser is no longer brewed in Amurrica.

Have you heard the latest conspiracy theory about health care reform? Apparently, people think Obama wants to try to convince old people to kill themselves, so that he won't have to pay for their health care. What the bill actually does is allow doctors to counsel their patients regarding living wills, if the patient wants to be counseled on living wills. Last I heard, writing a living will is not the same thing as committing suicide. Then again, I am a big librul so I probably just don't understand.

Actually, I think it was Biden that had the NA beer. Gates had a Sam Adams light and Crowley a Blue Moon, which is owned by Coors.

The end of life thing is funny. The GOP is just trying to stir controversy. Last night on C-SPAN a few Republican congressmen were hanging out in the House and interviewing some doctor on the bureaucracy of the proposed system. Many of the congressmen pointed out that they too were doctors before they were politicians. I guess the whole show was supposed to be about the doctors having the expert opinion on health insurance reform. Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like the LAST people I want deciding about my health insurance are the doctors. I want someone deciding that stands to gain and lose nothing from a change in the system. But its GOP propaganda; I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who see doctors talking about it and think "these people are the only ones who will know what is right."

Ah, I stand corrected; it was Biden who had the near-beer!

Wait, Biden is a Muslim?
