I know it's mean, but the blond chick who literally cries over the prospect of Obama telling her kids to stay in school... yeah, I hope she gets pig flu of the ass. Seriously, people... Really?

ABC News just did a story showing that there was hardly any outrage when Bush 41 gave his speech in 1991. Oh, and he also asked students to write him a letter on how they can help him to achieve the adminstration's goals.
What a communist... what a joke.
So we're going to take our kids out of school, out of the educational environment, probably sit them in front of Limbaugh or Fox News for the day instead, and then send them back the next day with a head full of anti-government sentiment. I'm sorry, is it the President or the parents doing the indoctrination? Its hard for me to tell.
Anyway, this is going to come back and bite the conservatives in the ass because at this point, the next Republican President is going to get the shit storm treatment from all fronts, including this blog. I'm officially gearing up to sink to their level.
Do NOT sink to their level... get mobilized. I am participating in some things that I don't want to share quite yet, but you should honestly do some volunteer work. We shouldn't concentrate on who the Republicans will nominate in 2012, because that's still three years away. Instead, find out what you can do to promote the cause. It is more satisfying and probably holds more significance than complaining.
Not to mention the fact that if you spend 4-8 years acting as if EVERYTHING a president does is akin to raping a puppy, you don't leave much of ANYTHING left for your president to do... no republican president can speak kindly about Islam, address children, or do anything for old people... ever. again. ever.
Jonesie, when you are ready to go public with your secret communist agenda, let me know... you know I'm always game for some rabble rousing... even if it's just some volunteering or charity :-)
I know you're chomping at the bit to hear what is going on, but I'll announce it on The Bread Line soon enough. These people who rip me for not trying hard enough to find a job don't know anything. I'd be foolish to announce my plans on the tubes of Internets for all to see.
I will say this, though... I'm building contacts and inserting myself into something that has some real potential. Time will tell...
Call us idiots, but when somebody, a president or otherwise, expresses disgust for our wishes and then he and his left wing accomplices virally throw our money away, diminish our freedoms, piss on our values, and call us gaggers, Nazis, terrorists, Astroturf and retards; they are not only going to fail to get our respect or votes, but they have also forfeited the honor of talking to our kids. After the insults that have been hurled at constituents that don’t want to smoke their political crack they don’t even get the right to talk or our pet goldfish.
Wait, who is calling whom a nazi/terrorist? When people liken the president to Hitler, I think they're drawn that line in the sand pretty clearly.
And elections have consequences, Moe. Consequences from 2001 to 2009 include the Patriot Act, Iraq war, an illegal prison in Cuba, tax cuts for the rich and bailouts for the banks Give me one example about how Obama is diminishing your/our freedoms. I'm interested in hearing what you have to say.
Whoops... that last comment said that I was in favor of TARP and consider it one of the few successes of the bush administration
There has to be some allowing for reason. I happen to think many of the right's wishes are worthy of disgust. For example, wanting to pull their kids out of school because the big bad President wants to give them some words of encouragement. That deserves an eye roll and a snort.
Okay, I'll try again.
Hey, E, thanks....you might be a libchit, but you're a good libchit.
Now, about this Osama speech to the kids.....what did he mean (before it was stuck out) by this question:
"Ask what you can do for the president"......
Osama is speaking to students? How does he get an uplink from Pakistan?
And here's the transcript from Bush 41's speech when he "indoctrinated" our students (and me) with his speech in 1991...
"Write me a letter - and I'm serious about this one - write me a letter about ways you can help us achieve our goals." -George H.W. Bush

BTW, MJ, I'm excited to hear about this new project as well.
I hope it's a Scott Beveridge cover band... :-)
C'mon now!
It's really simple: These people who don't want their children to hear from the president are imbeciles. They probably have trouble keeping their saliva in their mouths.
The health care issue is a perfect example of the inevitable pattern of socialism: Taking something that was initially the province of individual choice and you move it to the ambit of state responsibility on the welfare state theory that it is government's responsibility to redistribute resources to ensure everyone's needs and you finally get the dictatorial control.
Because as the state becomes more totalitarian, the leaders of the state necessarily make political choices about how the available resources got rationed. Nobody is saying Obama is Hitler. But there is no denying that what happened in Germany is a socialist legacy based on the leftist premise that health care is not a matter of individual responsibility, but it is fit for government control.
All in the name of "doing good." All in the name of some confused "right" to good health that people have. And in the process what used to be a matter of individual choice and what used to be a matter of individual responsibility, health care, now is out the door, and the government's going to take care of all of it. And in the process, you lose your privacy, and you lose your liberty.
The problem is, most people would rather have affordable insurance as opposed to the "choice" of who to send a thousand bucks a month to...
Sorry, but that sounds like more propaganda than actual argument. Social security has not turned us into nazi Germany, nor has Medicare or Medicaid, the VA, social security, the CDC, the FDA, WIC, or any other number of socialist programs. To suggest that a public option is the only thing separating us from a soviet environment is paranoid, ignorant and ridiculous. At least the argument over funding the program has viability. Try to stick to reality.
Listed SS there twice. Sorry, I'm tired.
"Nobody is saying Obama is Hitler."
Do me a favor and go to www.google.com ... Then type the words "Obama, hitler" into the search bar ... Then click on the "Images" tab at the top left. When you find the light at the end of the tunnel, please tell me...
Hey E! Just a suggestion, and I can't take credit for this, because I saw it on Wonkette, but it's even funnier if you use the phrase "pig AIDS". (for those who didn't notice the original phrase, swine flu = pig AIDS). (I hope no one finds this offensive. If you do, please blame Wonkette :) ).
Also: What does the right wing say if the President announces that he's okay with reform that doesn't include a public option? Like what Olympia Snowe wants? Is it still socialist or what?
Hey, it's Moe! Hi Moe! Good to see more OR folks over here. I haven't had time to comment on many of the excellent posts over here lately.
An additional point: In my opinion, health care reform is not at all about government control of more things. It's about two things: 1) almost all other western countries have better health outcomes than us and spend like half what we spend. I think all of them have publicly-financed health care, either through direct services, public insurance, or public subsidies for private insurance. and 2) the way the current health care system is set up, we as a country are going to continue getting more unhealthy and spend way way more on health care, making the deficit even more out of control than it seems right now.
As a budgeteer (OMG that is dorky!), #2 is the most important to me, but #1 is just embarrassing. Heavy regulation and subsidies that cover everyone, improve quality, and reduce costs are necessary to keep up with other nations and will actually SAVE money in the long term. It sounds strange, but I really think it will.
I heart Pig AIDS, thanks!
I'm not sure if this "Moe" is the same "Moe"...
Don't think that it is.
I'll post this here again just to be thorough: I posted yesterday as "Pookie", but that's just an alias for LittleJ, which is what's on my Kenyan birth certificate :), and is also my usual screenname for OR and related stuff.
And sorry for the Moe confusion!
